We survived the Clown Motel. No creepy apparitions where found. I tried to get everyone to watch the movie "IT" but I was out voted by the team. I wonder why?
We woke up to a wonderful breakfast thanks to the chamber of commerce at Tonopah and our lovely host Denise. With full stomachs we took off to our 6th state, California. You don't know how happy we are to make it this far from the plains of Texas, the hills of New Mexico, the mountains of Utah, and the desert of Arizona and Nevada. The bike ride to California was not as simple as we thought. The blazing heat of Nevada caught up with us. It felt like we were in a oven. The funny thing is in the distance we saw mountains covered with snow. It was strange to see completely opposite environments.
We hit Benton, CA. with burning tans. If you thought my farmers tan was bad wait til you see it now.
We are staying at Pastor Jim and Sherry Copeland's duplex from White Mountain Bible Church. We couldn't be more thankful. And even greater they had a kitchen! So I got to show off my cooking skills....Prego stikes again. They also had a wonderful selection of movies. The movies included all of our favorites from childhood. All the Disney classics. We couldn't help but pop in Alladin and sing along. We are sometimes goofey after a long bike ride.... Maybe it's too much sun.
Kyle is still off the bike and Alyson is back on track. Nathan and Andi are getting over a bug. I'm the only one that has yet to get sick. Let's keep it that way.
Today we were told we were on KLOVE christian radio. It was televised throughout the nation. People from all states were able to hear our story. My mom was interviewed and shared the reason for the ride. You got to love mothers. Looking forward to the response of the audience.
Right now, we are getting ready for bed and keeping in mind the long journey that awaits us: California, Oregon, Washington, Canada, and then our final destination Alaska.
